  • KEOM, Mesquite Schools Radio, is currently accepting applications for the 2015-2016 school year. They’re looking for students with great speaking, theatrical, and writing skills. It’s a very “hands-on” class. Not only will you learn vocal techniques, but actively use the equipment as well. If you’re interested in TV, this program is a very close relation and many skills are interchangeable.

KEOM’s radio program has opened many college and professional doors for KEOM students in TV and radio broadcast, journalism, communications, and public relations. You don’t need to have an interest in these fields. It’s a great class if you’re looking for a confidence builder!

Schedule your audition today! Send an email to pbrooks@mesquiteisd.org or call 972-882-7560.

  • Yearbooks are still on sale. Hurry, last day for book guarantee order is January 26. If you want your book personalized the deadline for that is February 27. If you need a payment plan see Mrs. Liske in K6 to order your book today.

  • Do you need money for college? If so, have you checked out the scholarship area located outside the Counseling Center? New information about scholarship opportunities is updated regularly. Stop by to see what opportunities exist for you!

If you are interested in applying for the Mesquite ISD Local Application, please turn in typed and completed apps to the Counselor Center by January 31st to be considered for local scholarships.

The deadline for applying for college/university scholarships is fast approaching. Don't forget to check with your college admissions office to find out specific deadlines.

  • If you write poetry, draw, paint, sculpture, write short stories, write songs, or take pictures the Swarm Press is looking for your authentic work to publish in their literary magazine the SIDEBAR. Please submit your authentic work, or a picture of it, to room K6.

  • Show off your movie-making skills at this year's Mesquite ISD Film Festival! Compete against other high school students in Mesquite ISD.

There are no categories, so all genres and styles of films are welcome to enter. Entries will be chosen based on overall storytelling. All individuals entering the competition will receive an official Mesquite ISD Film Festival poster.

Entries will be due no later than April 17, 2015.

12 finalists will be chosen and notified on May 4, 2015. The finalists will be posted to the Mesquite ISD YouTube Channel to be voted on for the Viewer’s Choice Award.

To enter, ask Mr. Coursey in Room K1 for more details!

  • Have you been accepted to college yet? If so, bring your letter to the counselors office for your picture to be posted on the acceptance wall located outside of the cafeteria. Don't forget to bring your smile!

    3. If there is no crosswalk provided, go to the nearest intersection and cross from one corner to the next corner only when there are no vehicles approaching on the road.
